The TGA has provisionally approved the Pfizer COVID19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years old.
ATAGI is expected to provide recommendations on a vaccination program for 5 to 11 year olds in the coming weeks, with the vaccination program expected to start in mid January.
The vaccine dose approved by the TGA for children aged 5 to 11 is the same safe and effective vaccine used for other age cohorts, however is one-third the dose approved for those aged 12 and over. It will have different packaging so we need to wait until these arrive until we can take bookings and set up designated clinics for this age group.
The recommended schedule for vaccination in this age group is 2 doses, 8 weeks apart. The interval can be shortened in special circumstances to a minimum of 3 weeks.

We continue to have bookings for 1st , 2nd and booster vaccinations for those over the age of 12.
